the law is as dark as u want in the back and as dark as you want in the little side windows (in the mustangs case)

s2k has it right, NJ porohibits tint on the front windows and windshield, but back windows can have any darkness. In NJ you really don't need to worry about cops as much as you need to worry about inspection, but if you roll your windows down before you get to the inspection station, they normally miss it. Cops in NJ normally only give you **** for your tint if they want something to throw at you. I know a lot of cops that will write tickets for tint to people that were speeding and had tinted windows, and then not write the speeding ticket. That way the person is punished in some way, but doesn't have points / moving violation.
