Default Side exit exhausts

Ok, so i was looking under the car to see where i could route sum cutouts to, the only place i could tuck them in right behind the fuel tank, other wise there going to have to go UNDER the frame rails and they will hit, is the fuel tank heat proof? where do the cervinis run them?? and also i want to utalise the stock rockers, im going to custom fab a housing in it for a pipe to stick thru, just a 2.5 inch or sumthing for sho with an insanly shaped tip (like the cervinis but smaller) So, the question is...

where can i route the 2.5 inch pipes so they are near the rear tire???

oh thank man, i never thought of going back down the car in a u shape! nice. im gonna have my muffler shop take a look and price it for me... then all i need is cheap electric cutouts, i thin 2 2 inch straigh pips would be sufficeint right?? or u think 2.5 would be better? i think 2.5 is the MAX for the stock side skirts, thats pushing it too

No problem, took me a minute to remember where I saw those. Dual 2" should be plenty IMO. I believe stock is a single 2.5" right? If space is too tight for the 2.5 i'd go for the 2. Man I bet that setup will sound awesome, and if you could make the button in one of the factory dash locations that would be sick!! How do you plan on cutting out the holes and making it look right? It would be cool if you could find some kind of insert. That way you could make a hole attach the insert and run your exhaust through it.

if u go to ur rear wheel and look intot he fender well behind the side skirt u can see a void, i plan on going thru the layer of body metal and the side skirt right there. the side skirt all the way along in the same distance from the ground as the metal jack frame so i think thats the only place... and the right one at that! my rotozip should do it just fine. i have a steady hand!

Can you provide more details on what type of mufflers you will use, and how to use the stock side skirts and how to cut them? Paulboy, what are you going to use to replace the stock rear bumper?

+1 what do you do with the rear bumper exhaust exits? I'd love to go with side exhaust, I think it looks excellent but I don't know what to do about the rear exits. If you figure it out share with your brothers!

You'd be the first that I saw on these forums that did it. I always wondered about side pipes. I like them with body kits too.

Well its int he fantasy stage atm, ill have to get the car off the ground and remove sum parts to make sure its possible, My totaly plan is to leave the exhausts coming out of the back, still hooked up and everything, but ill have electric exhaust cutouts put in before the gt takeoff mufflers and run those 'straight' pipes to the sides just infront os the rear wheels, for those of you that dont know what an exhust cut out is, heres a link.

http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm
they channel the exhaust flow to either the rear or the sides, so i can start the car up and warm it up untill the popping goes away andf then switch to side pipes, or if im taking the family out... rear, myself and car shows - side pipes!!!! they arent going to be very noticable astheticaly but boy will they sound mean!

OK after more research on the cervinis side exits i founf out that they LOWER the car, same as eibach prokit measurements, also the wheels and tires are a VERY simaler overall hieght to the tires i have, SO in conclusion, i SHOULD be able to get sum side skirts that hang lower than the jack frame members and run the pipes under all of the frame assembly to the side skirt and exit throught the bottom of the skirt!! and if cervini can do it, im SURE i can do it. i wonder how much they r gonna rub tho. Knotband.. it might be back on
