ok no one get on me for this cuz i dont know alot about f/i's so if this question is stupid then sorry. But if your using something like the x-charger or a vortech supercharger can u put on a bov? I thought they were only for turbos? Thanks guys

On some cars this valve is tuned so you can hear it from outside the car. It makes a distinct "whooshing" sound when the driver lets off the gas suddenly.
a blow off valve is always on the intake side or it is completely pointless. The blow off valve's purpose is to release excess pressure once the throttle is closed. Once the throttle is closed, the boost coming from the turbo has nowhere to go, but backwards. This is very dangerous for your turbo because it can spin the blades backwards and jam or even damage them. With a bov, the blades can keep spinning between shifts, the boost just goes out the bov instead of back into the turbo. If the bov were on the exhaust side it wouldnt do anything at all. It would never even open because the pressure isnt great enough because there is enough flow through the exhaust. I dont mean to be mean, but if you think your buddy has an sti with a bov on the exhaust you are either mistaken, or lying.
