What can we beat from a red light?

What can we beat from a red light?
Not sure what you boys call it. From a dig is it?
Here is what I am thinking. And please correct me if I am wrong but this is what I have read and learned from reading on here. Torque wins races. Right? Ok. So our v6 mustangs have a lot of this torque right? Cool. I am ok with that. So my mustang does not go fast on the highway. That is all right. It cannot get around a jerk driving a benz or a nissan maxima. Thats ok. but what i want to know. Is what can we beat from red light to red light?
So if a guy pulls up to me in one of those 350 z's(I forget who makes them. Infiniti?) And winks at me revving his engines can I beat him off the light and make him look like the *** he is. I know if it was a 1/4 mile till the next light I could not. But say it was 1/8th of a mile. Could I then? Can our cars do really well from the "dig"? And if I added a tuner/cai would it be even better? Can we always for the most part beat front wheel drive v6es from the dig?
Thanks!

no way could we take the 350Z or anything in that class. you will be able to take BMW 3** and old style M3s, the sn95 or older gt mustangs, civic si's, preludes, gti's, jettas, every acura except the nsx, eclipses, the "fast" focuses, charger (or magnum, not sure which one has a v6) with the v6's
....many other things considered to be "pretty fast"....cant name them all off the top

That's a lot and neat!!! Ok so no 350z...what is 300 hp at the crank? Is that what the mustang GT does?
