Default Does this look correct?

I just finished swaping my stock v6 muffler for the stock GT muffler. The clearance on the tailpipe looks a little close to the bumper to me. I sure dont want to melt the rear bumper. Can anyone who has made this swap take a look at the pictures and tell me if this looks correct?

It looks too close. Check out my gallery for a rear shot. I have GT takeoffs, but also have the rear facia.

I have the GT rear bumper cover and Gt duals and there is about a 1/2 inch clearance; I think you might have a potential problem.

also it may be a little to close inward...your tip its parallell with the bumper and you may end up having exhaust fumes changing the color of ur bumper...color'd car with a black stripe up the back from the exhaust outlet smoke...eh i'd pass.[sm=smiley13.gif]

did you have to mod it at all? or did it just fit in perfectally with clearance?

No problem. I had a difficult time getting mine on. Removing the stock one is probably the hardest part then bolting on the first hanger is difficult due ot the fact one of the bolts is on top of the muffler and you dont have much clearance for your hand/wrench. I had to bend the hangers on the muffler a little bit due to the fact they shipped it poorly and it was damaged. Make sure you watch how the hangers bracket on and replace them the right way, seems simple but its easy to forget. I'm going to try to get out and take some pics of it later but feel free to ask any questions you need.

Also when you attach the muffler to the actual piping its going to be difficult to get it to fit in all the way. Theres a notch on the piping that lines up wit ha notch on the muffler but to get it to fit all the way you need to apply equal pressure on both the muffler and the piping to get it in all the way.
