Default 3.9L V6?

So I raced an 04' V6 convertable yesterday...I won. I always knew but I was wonderin if anyone knew the point of ford upgrading the 2004 V6 to a 3.9L engine just for that one year? By the way I am a new member but have been reading up on this section for a while.

because they were changing to the 3.9, which is just a slightly longer stroke for the windstar or whatever it is and ran out of the 3.8 cranks, basically advertising cause early 3.8s had headgasket issues

how much did you win by by the way

its basically just marketing, the early 3.8s (before mid 96) used to eat headgaskets every 50k, which was an expensive repair, even though it was fixed, not everyone knew it, so they stroked it a tiny bit to get away from the 3.8 name

I was driving on the hwy and coming up on him, didn't think he would try to race but as soon as I came up on his tail he slammed on the gas...I couldn't resist and jammed on mine I was just keeping up with him at first then we slowed down to about 65 he let me pull up next to him and after we took a gander at each other we both slammed on it. I pulled away right from the start and slowed down after I was about 5 cars ahead. Yes I understand street racing is dangerous and illegal. Sorry but everyone does it every once in awhile.

just remember this with street racing, or highway racing. If you are on an empty highway and get caught, its exibition of speed, speeding, and drag racing that you could face as tickets, BUT if there are more than just you and your racing buddy on the highway, and you are around lots of traffic i.e. going in and out of traffic, it goes on up to a midemeanor charge of Wrecklees driving (when other people are at stake) AND, if you hit a pedestrian in excess of 30-40mph over the speed limit, depending on the state, it is either attempted involuntary man slaughter, or involuntary manslaughter, depending if the guy dies or not, which i believe is a felony. SO PLEASE keep that in mind, road racing is fun and exhilarating, and it is also dangerous and costly. Sorry...... its the cop in me....lol
