Default PROCHARGER QUESTION!!

Alright this is the case... I just talked to a guy from Powered by Ford and I asked about the installation just for ****s and giggles. He said he didn't like ProCharger and he told me that Vortech is the better buy. That may be true, but is it true that you have to uninstall the ProCharger to change the oil because it's "a pain in the *** to get to." He said you had to uninstall the blower to change the oil which deffinitly sucks! Anyone who might know please reply! Thanks guys!!

While I don't think you HAVE to remove the blower to change the oil.... I would still go with the Vortech over the Procharger... There just seems to be a lot fewer other hassles with the Vortech...

actually things like poor customer service, lacking techincal support and a history of putting kits on the market before they are complete covers more than just the S197 V6... I've talked to multiple shops that quit carrying prochargers long before the S197 hit the streets... LOL!

Okay can anyone answer me this question? I went to Vortech's site and it's gets a gain from 210 to 290. That's not very impressive but I also noticed that it doesn't have an ai to water aftercooler. Does anyone know where I could get a complete kit with the aftercooler?? Because if I can find that then it might make my decision easier and if not then I don't know Thanks alot for the help!

Im happy with my set up. It pretty much stopped leaking and everythings turned out all right so far. It is a project to change the oil, but can easily be avoided. I just syphon it out with a shop vacc LOL Sounds goofy but it works. LOL

My reply to AmericanMade via e-mail

Oil changing is easy. I have a small jelly jar that I use. The jar sits perfectly underneath the blower. I use a 5/8" socket to loosen the plug. It doesn't start leaking out until you completely remove it, so you can get it loose enough to where you can turn it with your hand and remove it. When you pull the plug out of the stream of oil, you'll probably have a few drops spray out... that's it. Clean any metal filings off the magnet, make sure the o-ring's clean, and reinstall. It helps to have the fill plug open to break the vacuum. Squirt one entire bottle of oil in and close it back up. Easy.

You do not have to take the blower off to change the oil. He's full of ****.

By the way, I've NEVER had a bad customer service experience with ProCharger.... and I've dealt with them a lot. I had some leaking issues with my P1SC, but they hooked me up with an upgrade to a D1SC to make up for it!
