Default Heat Problems

I have noticed, more-so recently than ever, my car disipates engine heat into the interior of my car. I have NEVER driven a car which does this. I notice it comming from my A/C vent nearest my driver window, even if the air is off all together. I also notice it a lot comming from the E-Brake hole, and most notably from under the dash and console right on my right leg. Does anyone else have the same problem or a solution or even explanation to the problem i am having? Thanks

I've noticed this on every car I've driven before, if the temp adjuster for the A/C and heat is on the hot side hot air comes out, if its on the cold side cold air comes out. I believe most cars open something when its set to hot which lets engine heat escape into the car even if the blowers are off.

Well.. when the crazy lady ran me off the road, I drove through some dirt and got all sorts of dirt kicked into my car from underneath the dash. If dirt can get in, heat can too... although I haven't noticed anything wierd.

Same here...I think it's got something to do with the pulley or pump catching up

i have noticed the heat thing recently too. The whole middle console gets very hot. I thought it may be the addition of the duals at first, but I don't think that is the issue. just took a 600 mile trip, and the console was uncomfortable to the touch.

I think our cars are HOT. No seriously, my Mustang puts out more heat from under the car than any other one I've had before. I can feel it when I'm stopped at a light (top down). My Dad yelled at me the other day because I parked it along side his driveway in the grass a week ago, and now there's a dead spot in the shape of my car there.

About the AC getting hot when you romp on it.... Do a google search on how modern A/C systems work, you will see that the system includes a WOT switch, this switch will temporarily disengage he compressor at WOT in order to get more power, I.E. passing a car on the highway. As soon as you let back off to a cruising speed, the clutch will re engage the compressor and it will get cool again.

Heat in the car... I have noticed this as well, Im not sure why it does it. Its that time of year here in Kansas for cooler temps and in the morning its maybe 60-65 F. I drive 20 miles to work. I roll down my windows to let the cool air flow into my car, but i keep feeling HEAT!!! Im like "I know it isnt that warm outside, why isnt it cool in my car yet?" I stick my hand out the window and sure enough..... nice COOL air. Heat is getting in somewhere.... Maybe an impropery designed heat insulation for the firewall.... who knows...lol
