Is shifting your automatic transmission bad for your car. And is it better to shift it or let the tranny do it, because sometimes it feels faster when i shift it even though its probally not.

I dont think its very good for the car. Without a tune it def feels faster with manually shifting but its probably all in the head

makes no difference to the car... the computer controls the shifts even though you are manually shifting... you move the shifter, that signals the computer that you want to shift, computer decides if it's safe to shift... if it's safe then the shift happens otherwise the car won't shift...

curious how you measured this? Did you data log it? Since the computer controls the shift it really doesn't make since that manually shifting is faster... ????

lol I use a stop watch... I know it's not the most acurate but it seems that way to me. I'll do it again tonight when I go home to see if I get the same thing.

Ok I just got home and I shifted and got the same results. Tomorrow I will just leave it at D.

It seems to me that you take off alil faster starting from 1st instead of drive. I usually do also because since i cant burn out yet it still seems to get a better chirp outta the tires.

Yea i also think that it starts out a little faster in first then drive.
