Corners very well 2
Sorry, I posted much too soon. I autocrossed my 06 Pony and did rather well. I have raced twice and beat some older Mustang GTs. Some were race prepared and some were running race tires and some were stock. There is a lot to do with driving experience, but I was happy. My pony is totally stock. I was able to match and beat Subaru WRXs. They placed me in G stock and I won the class. Some could not belive the I had "just a six cylinder", particularly when I burned out a little too agressivly on my first launch (which does not help your times). The car is no slouch and I made a lot of new freinds. Of course there were sugestions about race tires, new springs and bushings to make it handle better. (If I had a lot of $) I did find that if you charge the corners too hard the front will develop a understeer, but when you get it right you can and the rear out and had plenty of power to hold it. I blew it and spun out, which killed the run but was a blast. My co-worker and freind Myke D. has a beautiful 98 Cobra beat me by a mere 2 seconds, but I still can beat his wife in the same car. I plan to race againg this Sunday. It is adictive! Try it, You will like it and the new "little" Stangs do alright
