2007 Tungsten Vert
Hello All -
First post here. First off, thanks a bunch to you folks out there and your terrific ideas on improving the Mustang. I've been lurking for quite a while and figured I'd finally show you my new Mustang. (I've owned a Passat for 7 years and have had similar success in using the Passat forum to learn the intricate details of the car -- how to mod it and how to troubleshoot problems as it begins to age.)
Anyway back to the Stang. I've been a fan of the old Mustangs since high school. Used to have a 1967 hardtop in the family. When Ford went to the new body style, I thought they finally hit a homerun on going retro.
After much studying here and a few test drives, I finally decided on the V6 5 speed over the GT. For me, the V6 has plenty of power -- especially now with the CAI and tune from Bama (thanks to you folks for the lead). Decided on the red interior with the Tungsten. The red is a bit bold but, hey, it's a Mustang Vert -- why not?
Other mods so far: stubby antenna, GT Take-off exhausts, GT bumper, GT side skirts, tape delete, and pony side emblems. The 2nd exhaust is to be installed Monday when I get the muffler hangers from Kevin at Clevparts.
Next year, we'll do the 18" bullitt rims and will probably lower it a bit. The GT style rims are OK for now. Definately better than the 16" rims standard on the V6 -- my opinion only to anyone that digs the stock rims. I put the Eibach pro kit on my Passat 2 yrs ago and love the look and feel of the improved suspension. Also thinking about the Street Scene center fog lights grill. We'll see.
As you can probably tell, I've learned a ton from this forum. Though this is my first post, I don't feel so much like a newbie. Thanks again for everyone's ideas and thoughts.
