Default first mod

k i have my stang for over a year, now i can finally do mods thanks to my father

so whats the best first mod i could get, it have to be legal in CA, i know it sucks [:@]

i have sooo many ideas, jba headers, k & n intake (or steeda cold air intake kit?), mangaflow dual exhaust (gonna have to get gt bumpers), h&r super sport springs, hawk hps brakes (no more squeaky noise!), sct xcalibrator 2, bigger wheels, steeda struct tower brace, ford racing t-lok diff. (lsd), progress tech. antiroll sway bars, asp underdrive pulley

i still havent decided with the throttle body because im confused about which one is the best or is there a really cheap s/c? haha and if i get a throttle body, should i get a mmr throttle spacer?

any more ideal mods that i can do or better mods than my ideas?

Everyone's first mod should be an x-cal2! And since you have an automatic a X-Cal2 definitely should be your 1st mod!!

The only CAI i would buy require tunes... so I would either buy a tuner first or buy a tuner/cai combo...

I just got my XCal2 from Brenspeed, and the SCT manual has a disclaimer saying the XCal2 is not street legal in CA...I would assume that means all tuners/chips.

They are only legal on the track in CA.

When you look into a CAI, since you're in CA, check it's CARB status. If it's not exempt, I believe it's not street legal in CA either.

I'm not from CA, so I don't know if there are ways around this, but like everyone else suggests, I would go for a tuner/CAI combo...best bang for your buck on a first mod!

First thing I would do is get the C&L and XCAL 2 Package about 600 bucks shipped. I got mine from breenspeed. Great Customer Service. Took about 2 days to get. If you dont have the money right now I would just get the Tuner which is from 300 to 400 bucks. New Axle Back exhaust isnt a bad mod takes about a hour to a hour and half to do yourself. First get the XCAL 2 though.
