Driving through the snow....
Just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom for the daily-mustang-drivers with the upcoming winter. Is it a good idea to put sandbags in the trunk? I was thinking of maybe buying a set of rims with snow tires, and wearing them for a few months.

I'm going to go with the sandbags because I don't have enough $$$ to do the snow tires and rims thing. I figured two 50-pound bags should do it. I've heard that Bridgestone Blizzaks are the way to go when it comes to snow tires for our cars. Where would you get rims/what kind would you get for winter weather?
I suppose if the sandbags don't work, I may just have to find a way to get the tires, but I've only seen the set of four going for around $900 in my neck of the woods.

I'm from New Jersey and the past two winters here have sucked and I drove both in my daily driver mustang. I put 250lbs of cat litter cuz sandbags are too expensive and if I get stuck I can just open a bag up and dump it under my wheels for traction lol As for tires I kept the stocks on during the winter, I had chrome rims but no way were they staying on. The first winter I put snow tires on the rear and kept the stock BF's on the front. The next winter i threw the stocks to the front and went studded on the rear and had much better traction. Just take it easy. I have an Auto and just drove in a lower gear. Don't give it gas going around corners and avoid hills lol cuz hills suck!! got stuck on one and had to roll backwards down it. Good Luck man
