Default Electrial problem?

Ok i just rememberd that when i first got my stang the financial guy told me that fords are notorious for having electrical problems(although he seemed to be a hard core ricer since he told me right off hand that his civic could beat me on the 1/4.. lol i wasent even driving it home and i was already being told that my car was slow.. jeez.. but anywayz thats besides the point on with the question/story).. well today right befor i went to bed im cleaning up a bit and all of a sudden my car alarm goes off.. this is the first time ive ever herd it go off ever and i live in a pretty good area so i dont think somone traspassed all the way into my yard past my fathers car and right to mine... its kind of foggy out ... and the alarm basicly did not turn off untill i turn the car on.... could this be an electrical problem? what with all the moisture in the air it kind of makes me suspicous...

Welcome to wonderfull world of Mustangs Lo.
Let me start by saying that your financial guy is basically a ***** who shouldn't be financing Fords but washing ricers for a leaving. You should tell him that in a major accident, you'll have much higher chance of survival vs a Civic. I had a Civic myself and it was a an easy car to mod but after 2 fetalaty accident (both were Civics in 2 week period) here in Bay area, I decided to get something bigger. Fords now a days are just as reliable as Hondas and I own both and did lots of research. My 2001 Odyssey had a bunch of issues (failed Trany. EGR, door seals replaced every year, brakes,etc...) and wifes 2002 Accord is very cheaply made, uncomfortable and very underpowered.

Now for electrical issues. I did experience electrical problem after 1K on my stang and my junction box had to be replaced. But the technician who replaced the box and has many years of Ford experience said it was very rare that it happens. Once the box was replaced I had no other issues and it has been 6 month of happy driving now :-) I have installed my own factory alarm on the car (spent 1 day tracing wires) and 1 month after I've installed it, alarm started to go off in the middle of the night fo no reason. I had to adjust the sensitivity to make it less sensitive. It beeps every time a loud car or motorbike passes by and it is normal.

Enjoy your ride and don't worry. Cars are like people, some get sick more and some hardly ever regardless of the make.

BTW, I can smoke a NA Civic with my NA 5speed V6 Stang :-) You have to rev Civics very high to get any power since they have only 100TQ with mods :-) vs our Stangs that have over 230TQ with light Mods at 2500rpm

just thought id add to this, its also possible if someone's key fob operates on the same frequency as yours can do it, garage door openers, all sorts of stuff. wouldnt worry about it unless it keeps happening.
