4LITER6,
Adding a short throw shifter is going to be my first mod. I have been looking at the Hurst shifter, but I have been reading a lot of posts saying that rattles are a common problem with that shifter. Have you had any problems with vibration or rattle with your shifter?

Hello harlanb1,
The rattle comes from where the shift handle shaft connects to the shaft that come of the shifter, apparently what I gathered is that in time they come loose, both parts are threaded, which is connected with fine thread bolts that uses a allen wrench, they supply with two star type washers which are to used on the head side of the bolt, I went ot Home Depot and got two fine thread 3/8 nuts and used the washer on the other side, not the head side, tightened the nuts against the washers..................I can not see the handled coming loose using this technique...................I have only used this new shifter for one day.....................if it rattles............then it is not a handle connection issue....................I could not make a better connection............the two parts cannot come loose as far as I can see..............but the shifter works great!!!!

Cheers!!!
