I just installed my C&L CAI on my 05 V6.. I uploaded my tune that I bought from brenspeed onto the tuner I bought used from brenspeed, I plugged it into the car and tried to load custom tune onto the vehicle and it says "Wrong ECM type".. what's wrong here?

 

well on the v6 there were two types of computers the UGR2 and UGR3....might be UDR not sure...its on the right side of your fuse box on a little sticker. I think thats what might be the mixup. I ordered mine from Demolet intakes and he asked me beforei ordered mine

 

my cpu code is DUR3, I told brenspeed the right code

 

from checking out the boards on the sct website it seems this is a problem with the tuner itself, gee thanks brenspeed for selling me a defective tuner, i know i bought it used but i figured it would be working

 

thats sux man...you needa take that crap right back 2 em...aye does anyone know when the Mustang SCT Livewire is coming out??? If you're gonna get another one man I would hold out for that one its supposed to be crazy...

 

they just forgot to unlock it. just get ahold of them.

actually just connect it to your laptop and see if it will let you unlock it after you download the software from sct

 

Did you buy the xcal2 used? I did, and ended up getting a pre-production version that was one of the first ones ever made. It would not unlock no matter what, even if it was turned back to stock. SCT fixed it free of charge and put new firmware on it. This is very unlikely but if you got it used, it is a possibility.
