Default Engine Swap

I have a 06 V6 Pony Package.

Say I wanted to make my car into a GT.

What would I change?

Heres some obvious stuff:

Engine!
Body Kit w/grill
Emblems.
Breaks?
Exhaust. (already have 1 GT take off on the car and Xpipe, hangers, and other muffler sitting in my room)
Suspension?
cats?
intake manifold?
---------------

How much do you think it would cost to take a 4.0L replace it with a 4.6L?

This has been nagging at the back of my head.

Once I finish the payments, this would be an awesome project.
I think it would be an awesome sleeper if I kept the V6 logos. lol.

Another thing I'm concerned about is: Insurance

How do you think this would be handled?

Just call up the insurance co. and be like:

"Oh yeah, I turned my car into a GT. Sooo.. Cover it."

I don't think so. Has anyone tried any of this?

By the time you do all the necessary mods to turn it into a GT, you could have bought a GT and kept your car. Engine swap itself is going to run you anywhere from $4000 to $6000 depending on where you get it done. You also have to swap out the trans. If you want a GT, trade yours in on one. Doing the change over would be alot more expensive and you would be without a car for a long period of time.

i know this subject has been talked about and you may as well buy a gt...

well, at the moment i plan on keeping my 05 forever... lol... and eventually im gonna need to buy new brakes, suspension... etc....

you know how they make suspension kits that say gt/v6.... cant i just pop that in and then my car would be ready for a gt engine setup and tranny minus having to buy mounts and stuff?? (my neighbor actually gave me GT shocks/struts and springs from his 06) i alsosee people puttting gt brakes in.... i was even thinking of getting a GT rear end... i mean, years down the road i plan on replacing stuff that dies w/ performance stuff or what have you... so if its GT performance stuff if i have the right setup down the line why not... maybe put a crate engine in or what have you...

i think it would be cool considering ive invested a lot of stuff into this car and sure, i could buy a gt but would never get the resale value of my vehicle in the first place and think it would be cool..

installation of the stuff wouldnt be a problem... i know people that would do it for me as a favor if it were something i couldnt do... my friend is almost done getting schooled on this stuff, lol as well as my uncle could help and stuff

i just posted my thing but basically you wouldnt be w/o the car for a very long period of time if the changes were gradual, right? if you did the engine and tranny last for example?

I've seen people put better engines in thier cars,

Seems to be worth it to them.
People put new engines in project cars all the time.

you i agree.. and in my case... i havent spent any money on performance besides my exhaust and i basically got it because I like the duals... lol

I do plan on getting a cai/sct combo tho but nothing else really... if i do decide to just keep what i have because i am happy w/ my 6... ill get f/i lol.. but either way i would like to upgrade suspension and my rear end to a GT rear end would never hurt, only help, lol.

What would you swap it out for?

And I don't mean the best thing out...

Just something practical
