spoiler
On my new 07 black ford mustang i bought about two weeks ago the spoiler is not elevated above the car like the previous years. Anyone know why? I have the Pony Package on there. And also if you do know why, then where and how can i change it to the elevated spoiler style?
Same here, i have an 07 pony package, and i love the 07 spoiler rather than the 05 or 06. If i had gotten the 05 or 06, I'd probably want it without the spoiler. It's just differnet style for the spoilers on the 07's
looks good either way...look on ebizzle for the retro style spoiler...i dont know why they changed it for the 07 on the pony pack.....im guessing maybe perhaps visibilty...but looks i like mine.....or ducktails....
I did the same thing you're wanting to do ...
1. Buy a takeoff 05-06 spoiler from here: http://www.ninosport.com/Spoiler-Rea...;category=1503- tell themjondarien -at- hotmail referred you!
1a. You may need to purchase four 6mm bolts, 50mm deep, and four 6mm x 18mm fender washers, all preferably 18.8 stainless steel, four rubber washers, double-sided 3M weatherproof rubber tape at least 1" wide, Goo Gone citrus cleaner.
2. Take off your current spoiler from under the trunklid, unscrew the washers - preferably in freezing temperatures: this willprevent adhesive from sticking to the trunklid, and really help taking the spoiler off. Use the Goo Gone otherwise, if adhesive remains on the trunklid, then wax!
3. Prep the newly exposed holes/edges in the trunklid with some oil-based rustproofing spray.
4. Use the 3M tape and place it over the open bolt holes on the new spoiler; this will help insulate the spoiler from the trunklid finish, and also help seal out the elements.
5.Align the new spoiler with the holes - it would be helpful to have someone helping you.
6. Bolt under the trunklid with the four bolts going through a fender washer and a rubber washer each to about 45 ft/lb of torque (if I remember correctly).
7. Sell your old spoiler
