Borla or Flowmaster
The subject pretty much says it all. I am looking at getting dual exhaust, and the time has come between choosing borla or flowmaster, so i wanted everyones opinion about sound, appearance, gains...all the good stuff. Also, would this void my warrenty?
it shouldn't void your warranty. they can only void it if that particular part causes the problem. lets say you install an aftermarket cat back and you installed it in wrong for whatever reason and messed up your car. they wouldn't cover that. but if you had like an oil leak or your transmission was acting weird they'd cover that. basically when you mod the warranty will skip out on the part that you modded andto whatever parts thatany damage may haveextendedifthe aftermarket partcaused the problem.

and i have a flowmaster axle back and i love it. nice deep sound and rumble and slightly louder than stock. flowmaster is a good brand, but so is borla. you'd be happy with either. as for the gains i've gotten, most people will say less than 5 hp from an axle back. so you'll get slightly more from the setup you want.

My friend is trading in his GT and offered his borla cat back kit for 200 bucks ...only thing holding me back is Iam afraid they would be too loud. Anyone that has actually heard the dual borlas on a v6 ..please chime in.
I've got a Flowmaster single AT and I'm very happy with it. Loud enough cruising for me to be noisy without getting me too many glances from the police, but still makes a lot of noise when I walk on it, so it's very nice.
Borla apparently is very good too, also supposed to be a nice rumbly musclecar sound (like the Flowmaster), but I haven't heard one in person yet.
Borla is more expensive than Flowmaster, but it's also stainless steel, which is a nice feature that the Flowmaster lacks. When my Flowmaster rusts out, which seems likely, I'll definitely be looking into a Borla for a replacement, simply because it still sounds rough and is made of stainless.
Either way though, as far as an exhaust sound appropriate for the appearance of these cars, you really can't go wrong either way. More cost vs. less cost, and stainless .vs galvanized steel (or whatever the Flow is.)
