Rear bumper scuffed. How can I fix?
Well it took 5 months, but someone finally hit my car. I knew it was just a matter of time.
I live in an area where most of the people drive insanly and dont care if they get into accidents or not... seriously.
It happened in our church parking lot no less. No one fessed up either.
I washed my car the night before, and did not go anywhere after washing the car. I know there was nothing wrong with the bumper then.
As I was walking to my car after church, I saw that there was a scuff on my rear bumper from some one backing into it.
When I got home, I was able to take some of the scuff off with a wet shami
There are still a few minor scratches on the bumper though. I dont think the scratches went through the paint.
Is there something I can use to get the scratches out of the paint?
I would rather not use rubbing compound unless I have to. The rubbing compound will
most likely take off the clear coat, not to mention thin the paint in that area.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

Ask your dealer who they recommend.... If it is just clear coat will beunder $100. If it is small it may just require a touch up. I am looking at a quote to repaint a GT Bumper Note this is an entire bumper. Yours should not cost that much if there is no damage. Clean $7.50 Paint $108 Finish n Buff $10 Tint n Clear Coat $35 Total time 2 hours @ 46 p/h Good Luck…

Try cleaner/polish first, next would be clay bar but if it's scratches you can feel with your fingernail not much can be done. Sometimes using a glaze will hide it until you can afford to have it fixed at a body shop or replace with GT or aftermarket one.
See if you have a local shop around that sells 3M Perfect. Ford Dealers use this product in their body shops. Where I live there is a company that specializes in tape that sells 3M products.
Pry some punk kids driving around looking for something fun to do.They cruised by, saw the mustang and decided to hit it. I bet they dont believe in god so they mustverealizedthe mustangs to be a godsend and messed it up.
