Tints
So i just got back from Canada ( my homeland!) and i was talkin to some guys down there about tints and i was wondering if the law is the same here. they can have up to a certain percentage tint on their front windows but ive gotten mixed answers here in MI. is it legal to have any tints on the front windows. i know the back dont matter but how bout them front 3!? let me know. if anyone out there reading this has a redfire mustang with tints i would appreciate a pic so i can see what it will look like before i do it. thnks!
The law on window tinting is state specific, and you can't just look at what other states allow. Michigan is very strict on front tint - be sure you check the site that raubt provided. If you go too dark on the front you will be standing by the side of the road someday with a state trooper and if you're lucky only a razor blade (and not a ticket)in your hand to scrape off the tint before you continue on. I think that 20% is too dark for Michigan -- if I understand how tint is measured and 20% means that80% of light is blocked out. If you and the front seat passenger can't be easily seen by an approaching state trooper then you will be ticketed and have to remove the tint.
