Default FWD Rims

I posted this in the tire and wheel forum but couldn't get a response

I know that this may be a stupid question butwould a 20 inch FWD rim be ok if i put it on my 05 RWDMustang or would i have to get a set of rims that are RWD or AWD? I'm just confused because the guy on ebay said that it would be fine on my car.

FWD is usually what we do put on these cars. FWD and RWD rims has to do with the offset and the offset on our car is more set for a fwd car. The older stangs offset was more rwd. You should find out the offset of the rims though to be sure they are correct because with 20s you have little room for error

Edit for those who want to know. RWD offset usually stick out bit more and fwd go farther in which is why on the s197 you can put 20*10 and they dont stick out but you couldnt do that with the older stangs

It doesn't matter what those wheels were made for; they're freaking ugly!

NO NO NO...I don't want my stang to be a fwd. I just want to know if fwd rims would be fully functional on my car (not necessarily the rims from that link...i was just givin an example).
