Air Filter comparisons...
do you guys think its worth replacing a dryflow filter (AEM) with a cotton gauze filter like K&N or S&B? i know the dryflow filters dust a little better but at the cost of air flow. i'm just wondering if the difference in flow is enough to replace since i won't be off-roading in my mustang where then the dryflow would be more beneficial...[8D]. from what i've looked up, the cotton filters only cost between $40-$50. your opinion would be appreciated.
I don't think it would hurt to get the K&N and it might flow a little more air than the stock filter. Since the K&N is reuseable you would never have to buy another air filter for your car. In the long run it would be cheaper if you keep your car for 100,000 miles or more.
well i already have the dryflow filter that came with my AEM intake. i guess i was wondering if it was worth replacing with a K&N or S&B cotton gauze filter. only reason i may replace the dryflow is because of some tests with a Brute Force that i heard about that Doug @ Bamma performed where he found minimal gains over the factory intake. i then read another post about the dryflow filter itself and how it restricts more air flow compared to the cotton filters. i just thought well it must be the filter thats holding it back.
