Lastly, I felt that when I pulled off the gas from a slightly high rev, it seemed like the car did not quickly rev back down. It felt way more natural...I dont really know how to explain it.
That is the second thing I noticed when I put my duals on... I can actually COAST now! (The first thing was my "hesitation after long cruise" was gone.)

Still, 7-8 seconds after you take your foot off the gas, the car does still decellerate automatically... but only ONCE!

Used to do that EVERY 7-8 seconds after you take your foot off the gas.

My average mileage went up by about 2 MPG because of this.

On one hill near my place, keeping the throttle steady, I actually gained 20 MPH on the downgrade and was able to take my foot off the gas and maintain that speed for the entire 2 mile grade!

You can get great mileage coasting at high speeds.

F/I or not.

SOHC, do you think your experience was a result of a tune, or the dual exhaust? Or both?
Well Iknow it was the exhaust.

I don't have a tuner... yet.

Next year.

There are two people who have actually dynoed the pre and post duals on an n/a car, and they both lost like 5rwtq
I can't understand a drop in performance by decreasing backpressure.

My pony has more top end performance than before.

Today, I just ran a 06 GT from a 65 roll.

I think he dropped into 4th and floored it, mine downshifted to 3rd.

I shot ahead about 6 feet for a few seconds, then he pulled aheadwhen I hit 4th.

I pulled up to him again in 4th around 5000 RPM and held on until I hit myspeed limiter.

He walked by me and I had to slow down for my exit.

He was surprised as hell by the expression on his face! He saw my plate the first time I passed him to get his attention, so he knew I had a V6.

Now, I know the GT has 90 more hp,I think that ifhe had an automatic he would have beat me. Or if he had downshifted in 3rd not 4th, right?

I still love my little V6.

I like it when I can impress a GT owner.

Next year CAI and tuner.

I think itwould be interestingto knowthe difference in exhaust setups. Like would the H pipe be faster than a Y or X ?

Sorry tobe the devil's advocate here but if the GT would have pulled down into 3rd instead of 4th, you would have seen what an extra 90 HP can do. Especially with a good driver behind the wheel that knows what he's doin.Even with theextra weight a GT has,he would of spanked ya but good!

Hey Wolf,

Anyone out there try the 70mm throttle body from Granetelli?

Says its good for 11 hp. Don't know the price though.

Like you said, a good driver makes the difference.

I guess a V6 and a good driver is better than a GT and a not-so-good driver.

MRT single axleback i had 212/242
with flowmaster dual with gt hpipe i had 211/239

the only change besides the exhaust, wa i removed the PHP alternator pulley (3-5rwhp/rwtq) so i dont think i lost any torque, and may have picked up a couple ponies. regardless, i definately didnt lose power.
