The modifications now begin

So I have had my V6 convertible for about 18 months now and have decided that stock performance is nice... but I need to start getting more.

I already upgrade the sound system - Kenwood head unit/Phoenix Gold amps/Hertz Energy Speakers & Sub.

Tomorrow I take my ride in to get its first performance upgrade. JBA Cat4ward® Headers and JBA Dual exhaust system. Spoke to JBA sales guy, who also is a Mustang guy, and he suggested that I stay away from the "H" pipe unless I am adding some kind of boost. I will lose horsepower not gain. So I will try it with a "Y" pipe for now and see how it goes.

Next week I then head to the fine folks over at Steeda. I was originally just going to have installedtheir CAI and SCT II tunerwith 89 octane tune but after talking to the sales guy there we have decided to spend the full day and also add a set of 4.10s, T-Lok and Steeda Sport shifter.

This should hold me for a few weeks .

In the spring I will definitely need to make a few more changes. I need to get rid of the stock rims and rubber. Maybe someone will have an end of season sale that I can take advantage of.

Up here in Canada are options are limited. Ordering from the U.S. is tricky when you have to deal with Custom Brokers and such. If there are any members on the board from Canada, I would love to know who you buy from up here.

Once all this work is done I will do a follow up post to let everyone know how it went. I might even have some photos from the day at Steeda. I have already asked to hang out for the day and watch the work so I will most likely take the camera and document the work.

WTF... Steeda called me this evening and left me a message. It looks like the 4.10s have been discontinued??? I will have to call back in the morning to get more details.

Are 3.73 going to cut it? Are there any other options? I see SteelStang05's thread about his 4.10s and now I cannot even think about doing anything less.

I disagree. I went from straight dual pipes to dual with an h and resonators and i felt a huge difference in the power of my car. Or you could listen to the guy who is going to charge you more for the Y pipe than a H pipe would cost.....

Actually it is costing me less for the "Y" pipe. I will give it a try and at some point I might experiment with the "H".

Not sure if this is going to work... but here is a photo of the rear end of my Mustang with the JBA exhausts.

Looks good! Did you get the Y pipe or did you go ahead with the H pipe? How much that cost you?
