Default Which manufacturer of gears??

I have the option of Ford Racing or Richmond 4.10 gears. Does anyone have an opinion on which is better? Is there another manufucaturer that I should also consider?

Thanks

I have the Richmond 3.73's and have some whine at 40 mph and again at 60 mph. My installer said it is a characteristic of the Richmonds in the 7.5" rear end - it was annoying at first, but now I hardly notice it. I have been told that the Richmonds are very good products, but with this characteristic.
I have also been told that the Ford Racing are very good products, and that they tend not to whine.

Maybe someone else will have more information about the two - if I could get away from the slight whine I wouldn't mind it!

My installer also said much the same thing. I asked him about whine, and he said unless the gears were Richmonds, there would be no trouble setting them up so there was no whine. He said in his experience Richmonds nearlyalways whine to some degree. I went with Ford Racing (made by Motive) 3.73's, and they're dead quiet.

As far as durability Richmond gears are top of the line in my book. If you have any gear whine you can adjust to get them out as long as you do it soon and dont let them get into a wear pattern. you also cant go wrong with Ford Racing gears though, great product, and its always nice to use FRPP when you affordably can.

Not much. A lot of Ford Racing products are made by other manufacturers and rebranded by FRPP. Ford Racing Stinger mufflers are actually Borla Stingers w/ Ford tips for instance.

They bring in a lot of items that they think are good quality, and that there's a market for, and just give them the Ford Racing stamp of approval and a new Ford packaging.

I have US/Strange 3.73 gears in my stang. No problems for the year that I've had the car.

so if i decide to go with the much cheaper (price wise) motive gears, there will be zero difference besides the branding?

I will not recommend buying Motive Gear from National Drivetrain because apart from their gears not fitting right, they'll rip you out with their shipping which cost me $100. I finally ordered mine at Ford Racing for the 3.73 after my car is stuck in the lift for 5 days because 2 of National Drivetrain's gears just won't fit!

When I asked for the correct refund, the customer service agent even blamed me for putting aftermarket parts in my mustang and she didn't even apologize for the inconvenience National Drivetrain gave me. I told her this will give a bad impact for them 'cause I will tell my story to my forum buddies here and she answered that they don't care because they will just outsource their products??? I told her also that isn't it that the customer is always right? She answered she don't believe in that.

I will be writing a formal complaint against National Drivetrain's POOR customer service to Motive Gear hoping that they will strip them off their distribution rights.
