how much does adding a racing stripe cost?
With professional installation, it could cost a lot. I looked into getting a "professional" a while ago (even though I know how to do them with my eyes closed), and it looked like it would cost like $800 [:'(]
Most places will get FRPP stripes, which are already crazy expensive, then charge $100 an hour to just place them on properly, which is easy, but takes a while.
The best thing to do is to get a set from Baltimore Street Mods and put them on yourself. It is super easy to install them, and if you want any tips shoot me a PM.

Yo,
Caught site of this post and figured I'd drop you my 2 cents..
What I would do is buy a nice pre-cut set of stripes (3M Brand of course..)
maybe from www. twinstripe .com (dunno if they block these so i spaced it)
If you don't want to do it yourself, you can always take a pre-cut kit to a graphics place in you local area and have then set it on. They will do it much cheaper than a dealer will. The whole setup might cost you between $200 to $300, depending on your local graphics shop and what stripe package you buy.
A word of advice though: leave your car overnight at the graphics shop and have them do it the next day. Otherwise, if they try to put it on while you wait, the engine will still be hot from when you drove the car over, thus creating defects in the stripes from the getgo.
Anywayz, good luck, hope this helped.

if you're going to have racing stripes installed, but the stripe from the shop you are going to get it done at. Shops are much easier to work with when dealing with their own stuff, because they know how it will lay and sit and can give you a better price. I bought my stripe kit from Baltimore Street Mods and cant tell you how difficult it was to get it on. I couldnt get a price below 400 as an estimate cause nobody has worked with their stuff before. It woulda been 250 if i had jsut gone with their stripes...I ended up finding an old mechanic that used to work on my property to do it, did an amazing job for 130! if you need any more help, PM me
i have recently been looking at getting racing stripes on my car and prices really vary. i know that if you want it done proffesionally its going to cost a lot. i found some stripes on bostonstreetmods.com that were under $200. you may also want to consider getting them painted on instead of vinyl. but that web site has a wide variety of colors to choose from. hope this helps. o to get them done by a pro your prolly looking at like 7 or 800 when its all said and done.
I guess it depends upon your area. I was going to have a custom shop cut and install my stripes, but they had problems with their machine and couldn't get the vinyl cut. So I ordered from Baltimore Street Mods (great customer service by the way) and had the shop do the install for me over a weekend. They only charged me $150 to do the work - however he said with the SS superstripe he would charge the next person more because it was the most difficult install he has done.
Guess I would be adding racing stripes to mine if V6 supercharged. or was a V8 with some giddy-up. Otherwise waste of money to show off racing stripes with only having a slow V6 with nothing to back it up with. IMO. Show and tell for a V6er which people like to do, I guess. It's like putting on dual exhaust, which still makes it a slow vehicle and still sound like a putt putt. So, what do you people do when a GT, Mach1 or Cobra come's long side you...............with your V6 dual exhaust and racing stripes you spend money on just to look cool. Waste of money, right? Nothing like having a engine mod that could at least keep up with a GT compared to facial upgrade if you only have a stock V6 engine. IMO, of coarse. Priorities, fast machine first. Cosmetics are nice, but I'd like something to back it up with, SPEED first. IMO.
What do you do when nice sounding GT pulls up along side you with your fancy dual exhaust and racing stripes.......ya, just wave to him as he takes off. You spent that money to have nice appearance.....? Naw, is a waste. $2000.00 more and you could have had a V8! or...install a supercharger and be real cool with your sleeper. IMO.
