ahah kool.. 40's are better for my wallet lol thanks for the information! does it matter what Pipes I get ? cuz the place I went to charged me $150 to get my single 40 installed... $100 for the muffler, $20 for installation, $30 for chrome tip.. and he said if i wanted to go duals he`ll just charge me double... but yeah question is does the type of Pipes i get do anything for sound ?

flowmaster 40s arent that loud they only sound loud if u give it gas and in idle theyre totally quiet... thats my problem and im trying to get some noise in idle by putting an h or x pipe

JBA shorty header=louder and deeper growl with more power
H-Pipe-deeper note
Longtube headers r street illegal in a bunch of places and so r o/r h-pipes. Check ur laws if u want to do those. Hope this helps!

hmmm i want to go with headers but i heard that the dealer would use that as an excuse to void any powertrain warranties that occur... thats y im waiting for the FRPP for the v6 so i wont lose my warranty.... but yeah i think imma go for the H dual 40's route

Just read other threads on back pressure in dual posts. There's tons of info on that in other threads here.

yeah u supposedly lose torque when running straight duals with no x or h pipe but i didnt feel it and now i can burn my tire out and i know it takes torque to do that so i would assume i didnt lose anything

ORIGINAL: Sancho805

h for sound. x for effeciency. that seems to be the general rule that goes around although the differences aren't big. i have an h-pipe setup and i think it sounds great. perfect tone for the sixr.
i vote h-pipe too... x pipe will only give you 1 or 2 horses. useless lol
