Performance Mod
Looking for performance modifications for V6 Convertible that are reasonable affordable and can be done by novice. Car is still under manufactures warranty and is a casual driver (weekends), not looking for drag strip performance but good road performance on scenic 2 lane road cruises and on country roads and mountain terrain. Just a little something extra to make a weekend run a little more exciting.

RE: Performance Mod
Kinda contradicting there. You want a lil more performance but you also want to retain your warranty and not spend alot of money...haha j/k
Most of your responses will probably say CAI/Tuner. This will add performance and can pretty much be completed by a novice withlittle experience, as long as you can follow step by step directions. Though I dont know if the $500 is in your budget.
Gearsand Traction Lock is another option that doesnt take a whole lot of funds, butcannot be installed in the driveway by a novice. It doesnt add any power but moves the power down to a more useful RPM range to make drivingmore enjoyable. But you add in the cost of installation and your talking more money than the Intake/Tunercombo.
There are otherperformance mods you could go with but these are the most popular two with the most noticeable gains on a lower budget. You could also go dual exhaust but without any other mods this wont give you much noticeable gain in power but rather the sound. As for warrantyit doesnt matter what partsyou install or get installed as these parts WILL NOT be covered underfactory warranty. In most cases though modding your car wont void your whole warranty, unless the dealer can prove that your breakdown is caused by the aftermarket part/s.

If you have the 16" wheels, I would recommend upgrading the tires. There are very good tires available for the 16" rims, or you could get a set of 17" GT take-off rims/tires, and use your 16" rims for snow tires if that applies (or sell the 16's to offset the cost of the 17's). The 17" Pirellis or 18" BFG's are a big improvement over the 16" BFG's.
If you don't have the Pony Package, you can get some GT take-off sway bars. You can also upgrade your front rotors and calipers with GT take-off units (available from Saleen), which will improve your braking power.
