i have a dumb question
this is going to sound real dumb im sure but im gonna ask anyway. what is the difference between a supercharger, turbocharger, and an x charger? or are they the same things. any help will be appreciated.
This is just the short answer... Much more technical than this.
-SUPERCHARGER OR BLOWER = Belt driven "Fan or Rotors"that force air into the motor.
-TURBOCHARGER = Exaust driven"Fan" that forces air into the motor.
-X CHARGER = Brand Name from "Explorer" that uses the Eaton "Roots" or "Rotor" style supercharger.
Hope this helps! Not a dumb question!

a turbo uses exhaust fumes to force air into the engine, a supercharger uses a belt driven by the engine to force air into the engine.
A turbo can run on a much lower psi than a supercharger and put out alot more hp than a supercharger. A supercharger uses up hp to drive the belt, and anything at or under 5psi will be putting out small almost stock numbers. A turbo can use 5psi and put out the same hp as a supercharger at a higher psi.
