holy crap 300 a month?..how old are you?

im 23,my mustang is listed as "pleasure"(which basically means weekends only) and its $145/month,plus it will go down when i turn 24. you must have alot of points/be young..find out when the points will be off your recrod, then have your insurance reajusted. insurance is also different based of the area in which you live

I'm 19 and it's $950 for 6 months. That's with every incentive State Farm has for students. Then again I've been driving for three years with only one accident that wasn't my fault, no tickets and I'm listed under my parents name with them but it's my daily driver in my name.

Make sure you don't have a policy that says you drive 12K miles a year. Most people put this retarded amount of mileage per year on the insurance because the wanna be accurate. Screw that, say you only drive like 7k a year, nodody is gonna check and see. Also, make sure you don't have any tickets or accidents on your insurance more than three years old. It's rare but possible they can have some old stuff on there costing you money. Also make sure the address where you keep the car is correct, if you think you save money by having the garaging location at your parents hows or something you might be wrong. Those are the best ways to save money on insurance. If all else fails, threatening to leave because of rates can help get you some discounts you don't have. Just get other quotes first.

I have State Farm and pay $780 every 6 months, and I have every single discount in the book a kid at 18 can have, the only one left is that 3 year experience discount thing. Paying this price is an incentive for me to drive safe and in the speed limits, because I can't afford really anything higher.

If you have points, its time to start losing those with a defensive driving class, which I believe knocks off 2 points (for me it lowered insurance on a clean record). Or maybe you can find a cheaper insurance company and use as many discounts as they offer, if you've already done so through your current provider.

Shop around. There is a bunch of places where you can get a quote online.

300 a month isn't standard pricing. You'd pretty much have to bring that on yourself. How many points do you have and how old are they? Switching companies might get you a small break, but even 200 bucks a month is ridiculous. Pretty much all you can do is wait it out and stop driving like a knucklehead.

Try 21st century insurance.

I'm 20, and when I bought the car I was getting RAPED by Allstate.

Good hands my ***!

I have a totally clean record, and then they were charging me 6000 and change a year!

Now I'm paying like 1300.
