Default Exhaust

With all the buzz and confusion over y-pipe, h-pipe, x-pipe dual exhaust, single exhaust with GT take off mufflers, type AT, MTwhat wouldbe a nice sound for a convertible. I do not want it to sound ricy but would like for it to have a nice mellow tone. I already have problem with exhaust vibration that no one can seem to locate that is noticable when the car is idling.

Guy, easy solution when this much confusion is involved. Get rid of the Mustang andbuy aSEX MACHINE; something like a solar powered Prius or the new Tahoe with removable hard top. If the hair-blowing-in-the-wind is your thing, then that's why Sears invented the electric saw for jobs like removal of unwanted vehicle tops. Jack's suggestions after too much libations at a recent Halloween party in Mount Joy PA.

I would say the GT takeoffs may be your best bet. Just A little louder than the stock exhaust with no drone

I have a convertible and had the Flowmaster American Thunder. Great sound, nice rumble at idle, BUT on the highway it was too loud and too much drone especially in a convertible.
The GT take offs are a good compromise for me - nicer sound than stock, no drone, and not ricy. Mine are the automatic style, and I understand that the manual mufflers are a little louder but don't have any actual experience. I do know it is louder than stock - I was standing next to a Mustang with the stock muffler still and I didn't realize it was running even.

I just put ona Pypes street pro on right now and it sounds sweet. In the car there is no drone, but at cruise speed you do hear it a little. No vibration of any kind. Actually I love the way it sounds, but my wife wakes me up in the morning when she leaves, so the neighbors probably hear it too... If you're carefull not to rev it too high it just sounds nice, but rev it and it gets pretty loud. It would be perfect if I was 25 years younger...

I'm going with duals and will use GT takeoffs, so the pypes will get sold. I think.
