Best mpg has been 29.1(406 miles on 13.954 gals)this summer between Montgomery,Al. and Long Island,NY. Just got back from Chicago and got a best of 27.1 mpg. Must be the cold weather. Thats with vmptunings 87 mileage tune. I average 20 mpg around town with the 93 or 87 perf. tune. My Mustang is an automatic and is outherwise stock. I check mileage the old fashion way,no onboard computer. To yellowflame, Get a tune,a cai and a GT muffler(or any HP one, I run a Magnaflow) and your mileage WILL go up on highway driving. My best mileage prior to vmps tune was 24 mpg.

I am with you YellowFlame. I don't get more than 19-20 average with a combination of highway/city driving. I don't think I am abusing the stang either with my driving style, but I must admit to some 'spirited' driving on occasion. So SteelStang,I had actually been wondering if you had bought a new car and were posting threads on other forums. I remember you were talking about trading in for ?Mach1 or Cobra. Sorry to hear you won't be involved in our discussions anymore, at the very least you made it interesting. Good luck with your ride.

I just ran down from DE to NC through Baltimore, Frederick, Harpers Ferry, I-81, Roanoke, Martinsville, Madison, NC and back. Added up to 825 miles, and even with beltway traffic I averaged 25.5 mpg. Oh, and I am running 4.10's in the rear too!

somethings wrong with your right foot. you should always get better gas mileage with higher octane.

on my 91 octane tune with just an intake, i got 31.8mpg on a road trip.

I know this isn't really relevant for the V6, but the only thing that significantly decreased my mileage was when I installed my delete plates.
