Default Tuner Question

Ok so I am considering getting a tuner off someone here on this site but I will mention no names. So anyway before I ask my mom for it.I just want some really good stuff to tell her. Like how much can I get off a 87 Octane Economy tune as in MPG. Stuff like that
Thanks Bill

If you are trying to do a cost-benefit analysis it will never work. Since you need to ask your mom, and i'm not being cute, is this your car or your parents? if your parents, then don't fool with it.

if it's yours, you have nice parents for getting the car for you and you will feel much more satisfaction working for the tuner and buying it yourself. You want it for the seat of your pants improvement that it will give; not for the mpg because the mpg improvement payback won't come for say, several years.

+1......although technically you should get better fuel efficiency, you likely won't see the result unless you drive like a grandma (no offense all you grandma's out there [8D]). think of it this way, if you were given sport supplements that would make you faster and stronger instantly, are you gonna take it easy or start flaunting your strength and speed? something to think about. but like torque said, you'll enjoy it MUCH more if you earn the cash for the tuner yourself assuming its your car. good luck dude.

but i must also add, i've done my deal of convincing on other things and i've succeeded so if you really want that tuner, earn it by your convincing skills . tuning my stang was the best thing i've done SO FAR for my car performance wise. after having it tuned then returning it to stock, pretty much sucked. i couldnt wait to get my car back from the dealership so that i could reload my tune. by the way, i also own a predator and really love the user interface and upgradeable software from the diablo site. its pretty cool also because they have intake specific tunes for c&l, steeda, jlt and demolet. cant lose with it. good luck dude.

A new tuner will remove throttle-lag. Having better throttle response may help you avoid an accident.

Yes, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend the race tune.

Well its my car, but techically they still own it. Anyway I have the money to buy it and other things for my car for that matter but she is being real hard about letting me do things to my car as knowing that I have had it almost 6 months and havent got to do anything to it. So I was just wanting some stuff to tell her. I was really considering that I would get better gas mileage out of it cause I wanna stomp it every now and then, But I gotta tell her that.
