Default Valance Trim Dress up

I'm finally going duals, I have some GT take offs, but w/ my tax return I'm getting some FRPP GTAs. I can't stop watching the clips you guys have posted. Anyway I'm really starting to get into this mod stuff seriously. I've had it since Apr 06' and have done some cosmetic/sound stuff, but I really got my hands dirty w/ this dual setup. First I bought the GT takeoffs from some guy here in town for $40. ThenI purchased some Pypes hangers from American Muscle, then I bought some polished motoblue over axel pipes. I cut the valance w/ the Pypes template, but not before I figured out the bumper lines were off like an inch, and I am glad I checked. But it helped. Well, I cut the valance w/ a razor blade box cutter, it was super simple, took less than a minute. Although the cut looked fine, I wasn't satisfied, andI can't spend a lot of $$ for another bumper so I came up w/ this experiment w/ some $3 door trim from Walmart:

Don't bend it too much, it's only for display, I had to push it in straight and bend as I go, the adhesive
inside can be tricky. It snips w/ scissors.

Push from one side in. Takes a little muscle. Snip excess.

I had to trim this side as well to match the drivers side.

The material is soft and bendy and fits nice.

They also had flat black and white. I also bought some black to use w/ some touch up paint in case I didn't like the chrome, however I have the chrome tail light bezels (pics dont show it,) and a polished license plate cover and it seemed to go well. This might work well too if you screw up the valance cut.

I found a great local shop that is willing to fab me an H-Pipe for around $80. The stock over axel was a pain to get out, I had to jack the entire right side up to wiggle it out.

pretty good idea and it probably does look pretty good. I have the chrome tail light trim too, it looks pretty sharp. I've tried a few of my own little mods, but using that door trim looks like it could be used for other things too. Nice job though, looks pretty professional.

I like it! Did you do anything different to the passenger side stock cut out in order for the trim to go around it?

Now we've got to see what it looks like with your duals.

I cut it to match the cut on the drivers side.

Great job!

FRPP GTAs are Ford Racing mufflers. I have pics of them in my signature links.
