20 psi 4.0
Ha you probably thought you would see a 20psi 4.0 nope not here. But my question is how come I haven't seen any? I have seen ones with 14-16 lbs of boost but nothing like 20+. Why is that. I mean if there are foriegn cars out there pushing 25 why can't the mustang. I mean if you have the built engine and everything else is built, like most of them with 16psi have why not 20+? Can our engines if they are completly forged not take it or something? Whats the deal[&:]
P.S. I am talking about street cars too.

I think that's cuz they went with dual power adders (turbo & nitrous). Kinda makes one wonder where the psi limit is on a built-block 4.0L if you don't add juice...
[no, I have zero intention of finding that out]

My guess is 20psi it too much for transmissions and most likely too much for a DD even if on a built block. I've heard of a few people DD 14psi on the stock block fine so far, built block though gets me very curious. With all supporting mods to make it happen, what do you guys think the engine can take psi wise dd? My guess is probably 18psi, I wouldn't push it on a street car(not counting weekend cars), especially if this psi makes inlet temps abithigher.
Ok no one has answered my question yet. I know of guys that have the built tranny, the built 9" rear or even 10", the built motor and none of them have been past 16psi yet. At least none that I know of, but I have look around and haven't seen or heard of any.
i dont think its a question of ability... it takes a lot of money to build the top end, bottom end, drivetrain, transmission and get all the internals to the right strength.. maybe no one has had the money.. and if they have dont want to push the engine to 20 in risk of blowing the motor from some part they missed and throwing that money away... just my .02
