Well if you remeber i raced that 98 gt a while back, well the other fay he raced a stock 06 gt, and beat it, and i beat the 98 gt until a certain speed, we lose so much power up top, but this guy in the 06 could of just been a terrible driver?!?!

Usually a super charger.
Also, consider gears + a simple CAI. If you have a decent exhaust, you might be able to take a stock GT. I'm talking STOCK. Calculate how much torque you're putting down vs weight variables (we have ~400 pounds less in our cars than a GT) + any other options. I don't think you'll beat them with just the basic bolt ons, but you'll stand up pretty damn well.
If you wanna talk horsepower figures...
We're putting ~180 stock at the wheels.
If I remember right, it's ~255-260 for the GTs.
You have 60HP to make up, so consider torque instead...
I think I'm totally off in my numbers, but whatever, you get the gyst.

With intake, tune, headers, dual exhaust, 3.73 gears & t-lok, and a 75 shot of N02, I can hold on with an '05-'08 GT.
With just my intake, tune and exhaust, I beat a fellow forum-member's stock '03 GT. So the answer to your question depends on whatyear of GT you mean.

A; trade it in for a new GT
B; sell it and get a used GT
or the next 3 steps
C: beef up the internals, change the rear end and driveshaft
D; if you have a manny tranny then upgrade it or put a trans brake in on the automatic
E; get a turbocharger and run 20 pounds of boost

O and they are lieing about there numbers for there x at 7-8 lbs of boost. There is no way that it can reach those peak numbers unless it is freezing and they are running and race gas. That is the only way it would be even close. And those are numbers are break horsepower! They lie!![:'(]
