Hurst shifter..
..I just got a Hurst installed and is it just me, or does the cabin noise seem a little worse than with the stock shifter?
i've also been noticing a little rattling.. anyway to fix this?
thanks!

Try pulling the leather boot off and check to see if the OEM rubber boot is fully attached under the shifter. Any new noise has to come from an opening to the underside of the car. You have a ton of room in the cavity so if it is a real stresser fill it up with styrofoam peanuts or go crazy with silicone. Mine is not noiser but there is a difinate clunk noise when I shift. I kinda like the sound but it might bug others. I got it for retro looks more than anything else. I am into bling more than zing.
Mine seemed louder inside. I'm going to put down some dynomat and see if it helps. mine had a rattle i had the retighten the screws a few times that holds the handle the the shifter. I finaly put loctight on it and it has hold scince.
+1 for the dynomat and locktite. I did mine the same way, wrapped it all up with dynomat, used locktight on the threads, ever since my hurst is nice and quiet but yet still is notchy feeling while shifting, which is what I wanted. I love it! Oh, also, I thought mine took a few months to really "break in" and smooth out some. Give it awhile, it'll grow on you!
