NEED HELP PLEASE!!!
Alright so I was comin home tuesday here in Jersey during a snowstorm and I hit ice and slid into a high curb. My wheels all damaged and etched up and looks like its folding over or something. I was at Ford this morning and they said I definitely need to replace the wheel and might need to some kind of realignment or something. I should be having this done between Monday and Wednesday. The guy told me its safe to drive and stuff as long as I don't do like 90 down the highway. What do you people recommend? I really don't wanna like die haha. All help is VERY appreciated!! Thank you!
Thank you very much for your imput. Yeah if the car starts vbrating (which it hasn't) just the usual wheel vibrating when going at excessive speeds, then ill slow down. I'm going on the NJ Parkway and gonna stay in the right (slow) lane.
uuhhh.....dont drive fast...and drive only when you have to untiil it is fixed...that is what i would do...i wouldnt want to make the damage and repairs worse with unecessary driving.
Wow something happen to me today also I was driving 80 mph and then there was construction ahead and I didn't react in time so I braked really hard and my brakes locked and I came really close to crashing. Then once I got off the highway my wheels felt wierd when i braked and also when I would go foward. I went to work cameback after 8hours and my car feel the same again. Wondering If anything got affected when I braked hard on that highway thanks.
He's saying you may have rubbed the rubber off of the tire in the one spot where they locked. That spot would have made prolonged contact with the road and caused some of the rubber to burn of. the tire would then feel different and be mishaped (a little bit) causing a difference in handling and feel. It's like when we were little kids and rode around scooters. If you braked too hard and locked up the back whell and skidded it would burn the rubber down and the wheel would make a weird rattlign sound and the scooter would bump up and down really fast. Thats what he means by a flat spot, I would assume.
So thats Why I hear a noise today I put my car in drive and it started rolling but you would here a wierd noise coming from the wheel like something is loose. I checked the lug nuts everything is fine. You thing my rotors ar damaged or some other part.
