Default Dealer Re-flashed for Safety Recall

Hi All,
Was in the dealer yesterday for an oil change. They mentioned there was a recall for the crash sensor, I'm assuming for the airbag. The dealer mentioned a reflash, so I;m also assuming they reflashed the computer.

I was thinking about getting a tune, but now I realize that important tuning changes made by the dealer would, in all likelyhood, not be included in the aftermarket tune. When it comes to a retune for the airbag, I would rather NOT screw around with that.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Get the tune..then anytime you need to take it to the dealership, make sure and inform them not to reflash the PCM.

Yeah but he is wondering if he uses an aftermarket tune, is that going to effect the dealers adjustment to the airbag. He dosn't want to lose the saftey feature for performace. Smart.

But I don't know the answer sorry.

Ok, well quick quesiton I am bringing my car in next week for a quick oil change/tire rotation, but heres the quick question, at first I was going to leave my car with the tune and CAI because I had called up my dealership anonymously and they said it would be fine but now that I hear about this airbag stuff and lets say they want to reflash my computer, can I just right before I give them my car return it to stock but my question is will there be any damage to the engine/will engine warning lights come on for running to lean/rich if I leave my cai with a stock tune, only if they are going to be driving it around the dealership for the quick oil change/tire rotation then right when I get it back reflash it back with the new tune before I leave the dealership. Also is this airbag recall for all mustangs, or only ones with side air bags. Thanks again for th suggestions guys.

Just leave the aftermarket tune and take the airbag like a man.

This is one of the stupidest posts I have seen on Mustang Forums. I would prefer to put the safety of me and my passenger over "taking it like a man". What a joke.

By the way you can have the airbag recall RCM flash and it will not affect your aftermarket tune.

The recall for the airbag is not directed at everyone. The specifics on it were if you were around 90 lbs, and a certain height with your seat all the way forward and it goes off, you may suffer injury.
