Default Functional hood scoop? READ BELOW!!!

At lunch today I came up with a good idea(might not be) about me installing the california special hood scoop to my car. I was wondering whether or not it would be a good idea to remove the honeycomb grill on the scoop and drill a square in my hood under the hoodscoop. I was thinking that it might bring in some cooler air and keep the engine bay coler. My only worry is whether or not this would make an extremely annoying whistling sound or not. Please tell me if you think this is a good idea or just a really bad one!

I thought about this but i live were it rains alot and thought that maybe to much water would get in, or the scoop would fall off with all that pressure, unless you bolt it on! Worth a try i guess!

I live in southern california so it rains maybe 5 times a year lol. And thnx for bringing to my attention that it will need to be bolted down lol. That would not be cool having my hoodscoop fly off at 70mph!

Too much pressure and it would be alot of work to do, more than you think. I thought about it then took it to GAS up in Van Nuys I think and it was alot of work. If you don't do it right it can build enough pressure to blow off your hood

Yeah it would be cheaper just to buy a funtional hood. It would look better and be safer.

If I were to buy a hood it would def be yours. Sweetest looking hood ever. Is it a functional heat extractor?

No but you can make it one. Really you could just drill holes in it and it would prolly do the same thing.

Can I drill holes in yours to make it extract heat? Can I pick where the holes go?

2007, have you looked at a shaker setup? Those are functional, might be what you're looking for.
