Default Engine Start Button=Voided Warranty?

Hey all, I'm thinking about installing a start engine button within the next few days, but i was wandering, do you guys think this will void my warranty? or am I ok?

I figure it'd be OK because Ford sells their own engine start button...so its not an out of the ordinary thing.

Heres exactly what it'd look like:

I don't know if it would void your warranty, as I don't think it would affect anything??? However it looks pretty cool, how about a link to where I could get that!

they cant void your whole warranty for something like that. now if you do it, and your ignition goes out because of wires you cut and spliced, then they probably wont cover it.

i used a honda s2000 button for mine

Yea i ordered a honda s2000 button as well. You can get it from this great site: s2000 button (just do a search for "start" its towards the bottom of the page)

They ship UPS from Rocklin, CA. Thats the cheapest price for that button on the net.

Here is the guide I (and many others) have/will follow: Guide (.PDF)

I've seen those on ebay and other places. I was just wondering what is the point? Is there a practical application that I don't know about, or is it just a unique gadget?

ya i paid $32 bucks at a local dealership for the button, no shipping lol

and i installed mine a lil bit different then that pdf, but close enough. i used a cd aux audio cable from a pc, and it clicked in perfectly to the back of the s2000 button, so it wont pull out

not exactly any practical use for it, other than its easier on your lock and tumbler since you dont have to turn it as much lol.

its basically just a show thing

Yah , i woulda picked it up at my local honda dealership, but they wanted 49.99 for it. No deal. Quick question though fazm, if you look at the guide i posted real quick, it says to get a "3 amp fused lead." Ive looked all over on the net and cant find it. Is it called something else? Do you know of a place i can get one?.

Also, it says 3M T-Taps. I know where to get those, but do i need both male and female, or just female?

and finally, whatd you ground it to? Thanks

And yah, exactly what fazm said...all for show. Its one of those "just cause" things.

EDIT, i just realized my question about male and female was dumb, i need both lol.

Have you considered a REMOTE STARTER?
