4.0's with Nitrous
I'm sure there is a section for this,
and I am also sure that it will get no hits if I put it there,
so I'm hoping I get some replies here..
FOR THE GUYS WITH N2O:
What shots are you guys spraying?
Are you using a seperate tune?
What octane are you using?
Do you have pics of your setups?
I will be posting my info and pics in the weeks to come (I promise),
I just want to see what everyone (or anyone) else has.
Thanks,
FM

I've got my install in progress now as well so w'ell have to compare notes. I'm going to start with the 75 shot (I have the 4.6 kit) and probably the 87 perf tune w/ 89 octane. I ordered the TR6 NGK plug which is one step colder, recommended gap is between .030-.040, and motoblu wires. I plan on discussing the tune options w/ Justin at VMP and see what he recommends regarding the limits of the tunes I have and probably will get a custom race tune for the 100 shot. jets are cheap if you want to fine tune and my local speed shop says the Zex kit, like most err well on the rich side.
Do you have a window switch? I need to find the tach wire to tap into and rpm range suggestions.
I'm going 75 shot as well. I just bought a .021 jet from Zex tonight, which should be right for the 75. The 4.6 kit you have will have different jets, just be wary of that. A 4.6 has jets that are 75 shot on their cars that will be over 100 for us, so be careful.
I think I will have to adjust the global timing by 2 degrees for the 75. I was told that I should run on 93 octane fuel for the nitrous.. I would rather run 87 though, since gas is horribly expensive.
I am getting a window switch (all my parts are coming this week and I plan to have them installed the first weekend in April)
I have the:
N2O kit
Bottle heater
Purge
remote opener
window switch
I got the 4 switch cupholder with gauge from SOS.
I might have it dyno'd soon after, we'll see how my schedule goes.
I'm leaving the plugs the same, though I might change them in the future.
On a 75 shot this shouldn't be required.
I'll let you know about the window switch when I get it.
I believe it should be something like start at 3000 and and at 6000.. but I need to check on it.
How are you doing your switches?

fred...i def want to discuss but i'm dead tired and have to be up at 5am. check the ZEX site for pdf's on the install docs, the jets pairs are the same for both kits for the spec's HP boost. after reading the 4.0 doc i decided to get the plugs.
I just picked up a neat aircraft type switch with a carbon fiber cover and lighted switch (blue of course:-) )
I need the operner and blanket too!! purge not so much a priority.

I got the SOS switch plate in today, so I did a little test fit. it looks good.
the hole in the front will be covered by a N2O gauge which I will be installing next weekend.
I'll keep you posted with pics [8D]

My switch plate cost just under 100 with shipping. It was specially engraved with the 4 things I wanted and the buttons were outfitted accordingly (green for something that needs to stay switched, and black for a momentary connection, like Purge)
I will post more pics of the N2O and the installed switch plate as I get a chance.
hey looks sick man! im really interested to see what kinda results the 4.0 will get with spray! people underestimate them way too much! i just orderd my brushed aluminum SOS cupholder mount too, along with my innovate wide band A/F gauge to fill the spot. how long did it atke you to install the gauge/switch mount? looks killer!
