Default Traction Control

I have noticed lately that while my Traction Control is on and my back wheel(s) spin I don't get the notification message (IUP). It makes me wonder if it is working. I do the system check and it runs through all of the stuff and it says TC is OK but is there a way to tell for sure without lighting it up? Some kind of static test?

Our 2005 vert with the IUP displays a text message in the cluster when the TCS is activated, but my 2006 coupe with IUP only displays the "skidding car" idiot light. What year is your car?

It's an 05 with the IUP. I have seen the message before, just not lately.
