First Mods
I've had my 2006 V6 for almost a year now and I'm ready to get my mods going.
I thought about putting a new axle-back muffler on to help improve sound, but I'm really going to want duals and probably ad new headers and pipes at the same time, so figure I'll wait on that.
I've decided to go with a simple CAI and Tuner combo for now. I initally looked at a Hypertech from Roush but am going to probably go with a SCT cal3 and a C&L intake combo. I like the Bamachip tunes available for the SCT cal3.
I want to know what you guys think about the C&L intake and the SCT cal3 tuner.
Is there a big benefit of getting a Diablo Predator over the cal3 that I'm missing?
And is does anyone have any issues with the C&L that I'm not aware about? The only other CAI I have a favorable opinion of ATM is Steeda.

C&L is a no lose. One of the best out there. Just MAKE SURE you run it with a tune made for it. AS for the programmer, I have a diablo and have no problems and no desire to switch to a SCT. I guess the biggest benefit for the SCT is that more tuning shops seem to support it. Not quite sure on the technical reasoning for this or if its just marketing.
start with the basics
intake and a tune... vmptuning.com has em and justin does great work
exhaust. if you do headers, go with LTs, ford pretty much uses shorties on the cars from the factory a catted or O/R H or X (whatever you like listen to clips on you tube or streetfire) and a take off GT catback
rear end
those are the big three that should be doen first to help pave the way to real big power
also hunt around forums and ebayfor parts, you never knwo what you will find, i got my LTs for $170 in the box, paid $60 for my K&N CAI, and$350 for my detroit still in the box and packaged,

Sounds like I'm on the right track then.
I'm under the impression that Bama's tunes will allow me to input (on the tuner questions) that I have a C&L and tune appropriately. Is this correct?
if you buy CAI/Tuner from bama, the custom tunes specifically for the C&L will already be loaded. you just choose which "tune type" you want. Torq, Perf, Race, 87, 89, 91, 93 etc. The Diablo Predators come factory loaded (canned tunes), assuming it has the latest firmware update, with a C&L specific tune along with CAI specific tunes for a few other intakes.
