Default Tinted windows help

I'm looking to get my windows tinted tomorrow on my '07. Are there any tips or suggestions I need to know about when getting my windows tinted? I know on my '00 the tinting started to peel at the top of the door windows after some time, is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Also, I heard someone talk about "felt treatment" once. Can you explain this and should I look for it?

Finally, I live in San Bernardino, CA. Does anyone in this area know of a reputable place to get the windows tinted? I don't want to go to some corner shop if I can avoid it.

on CJPonyParts there are beltline replacements that are lined with felt on both ends so you don't ruin your tint job or you can buy some moleskin and go that route

That's all fine and well but I don't have any clue what that stuff is or how to use it. Can you explain it?

TacoBill did a write-up on it, so you can follow it step by step. https://mustangforums.com/m_3059554/tm.htm

+1, moleskin is a must!

The tint place will probably mention it and how it's necessary before they tint your windows. BUT... if they don't, they have no idea what they're talking about, and you should take your baby somewhere else to get the tint done.

Along with the moleskin, (my passenger tint got scratched the first time I lowered the window!) get tint legal for your state. I've read a few ticket issues on the forum over tint. I would also make sure they can do the rear in one piece. Mine is one piece, but my old car was 2 on the rear window, to do that they cut the seam with both pieces installed, and they cut my defrost elements on the inside of the glass. On frosty mornings, the middle didn't defrost. I ordered the moleskin from the site tacobill listed in his write up. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm trying to keep the windows up until it gets here. It wasn't the cheapest stuff available, but I didn't really look for a deal. Another option is to order the 08 window seals that now come with the felt on them, but they're more expensive. I opted to try to cheaper moleskin first, if it doesn't work well, I'll go for the 08 seals.

I got my moleskin kit from tintprotector.com It's $29.95 with enough for both windows, you just have to cut and apply. It comes with VERY detailed HOW-TO instructions & pictures. I'm very happy with the result.

I have 30% tint on the front windows. It's not legal in here CA but 3 months and no problems yet. I'm not worried about it though, no cop pulled me over yet.
