If you had a chance to go from your 2005 V6 Pony (27000 miles) to a Brand New 2007 GT Premium left over for $100 more a month in a car payment, would you? I need your honest advice guys. Thanks. I don't know what to do? [&o]

I honestly wouldnt because i would rather have the money in my pocket in case i ever needed it. I would hate to owe more than i have to. Plus you can use the extra hundred bucks a month for mods for your sixxer

Depends on whether or not I could afford it. Obviously we don't know your financial situation, but if it's what you want then go for it. I think at this point, even if I did have the money I would keep my V6. The 2010s will be coming out before too long, and I'm sure I'll want to go for the V8 when they come out. Now if this was a year or two ago I'd probably go for the GT.

+1 on that. I was debating upgrading to a gt but decided I am waiting on the 2010's to see what they look like, engine package's ect... That also gives me more time(and money) to mod the v6 exactly how I want it because it is not going anywhere, it will be staying.

Wait till 2010, see how they look like and if you don't like em then the price for the 05-08 GT's will go down a lot, saving you loads.

It sounds like a car salesman already has his hooks into you. You need to determine the total cash outlay you will be shelling out. In addition to $100 multiplied by the number of payments until your 2005 is paid of, you will also most likely be making car payments after your 2005 would have been paid off. So total those add'l payments up to to determine how much money this new car will be costing you (I won't touch the add'l costs for fuel or insurance).

I'm not saying NOT to do it, but you should be aware of the total costs involved before deciding. Recently here, a member posted that he replaced his V6 with aGT, and he paid $7K plus trade-in value on the V6. Like him, you need to decide if paying that much more money is worth driving a GT versus what you already have.

I have thought myself that I might like to switch over to a GT at some point. $100 doesn't sound like much, but if you are tacking it on to another payment, it might add up. I would probably do it if I could finance for 48 months, or maybe 60, but don't do it if it is 72 months.

I would trade in my V6 it wouldn't be two payments just one. My current car payment is $300 So, I would be trading the V6 in and the new payment would be $400 for the GT and my insurance would only go up $5 more a month. This GT I am looking at it a 2007 leftover (Brand New) Premium model with the Shaker 1000 in it.
