Default Repositioning a muffler?

I have a pypes dual catback exhaust. I think my left muffler sticks out a little too far. Whats the best method to put it back an inch? Hammer the hell out of it? Do the hangers allow for adjustment or will i have to bend the hanging rods on it?

Banging on it won't do a thing. It's hanging on rubber mounts...

Possibilities:
1. Bend the rods on the muffler.
2. Loosen the clamps at the joints and slip the pipes tighter (shortening the pipes) till it's even. (come to think of it, you'd need to do this for #1 to work anyway...)
3. Shrug and fuggidaboudit. Can't see it from the drivers seat.
