Default Hurst Shifter Issue

ok I know this has been asked before but the search engine here SUCKS!!

I have a Hurst shifter in my v6 for about 8 months now and no Issue what so ever. I coworker of mine picked up a Hurst Shifter for his 06 4.0 Mustang as he loved the way it looked in mine.

I helped him install is and showed him how it's done, taking the center consol apart and then getting under the car. he basicly installed it but I was there to walk him throuh it, so he would feel like he did it etc.

Anyway he's got that shifter Rattle issue when he stomps on it or around 3200-4000rpms. Mine does not have a rattle what so ever.

Does anyone know of a true fix for this? As he says he loves the look and feel, but the rattle noise drives him nuts. When he's alone he has the shaker 500 up a bit so he doesnt hear it, but when him and his wife go out, she doesnt like much music and it drives them insane.

Any help would be apreciated.. I told him to contact who ever he got it from and let them know whats going on. Anything else ya can think of?

OK Seems that all the good crap on Hurst shifter rattle has been deleted so for you newbies and likes:
1. Get a piece of bike tire inner tube and make a gasket the same size as the shifter knurl part where the bolts are. About 2 or 3 " long and as wide as the shifter handle and punch 2 holes in it so the shifter bolts go thru.
2. Unbolt the shifter handle and sandwich the gasket between the handle and the shifter.
3. Loctite the bolts with blue Loctite and tighten. Double check the rest of the bolts and retighten ( no Loctite! they would be a pain in the .ss to remove) .
4. Unless there is something wrong with your shifter like the factory grommet you reused per Manufacturer instructions is missing.
5. Rattle free shifting!! Have a blast!!

PS. Hurst makes a gasket for this shifter and problem but is not included with kit, its cheaper this way and easier!!
