Default Bama chips. (Calibration code?)

Well, I am just about to order my C&L cold air intake and X-Cal 3 tuner from bamachips.com
im ordering it tomorrow night!!!

I am on the site, reviewing what i need and it says Calibration or strategy code. Someone said it was in the engine bay on the ECU is it?

And the tunes:
for sure, the performance 87
but which two 91 tunes should i get?
the 91 Race, 91 Torque, or the 91 Performance?

When the time comes to get my car smogged, I have to set my tune to defult. Does this mean i also have to put the stock air box back on?

And should i install the CAI first then the tunes or the tune then the cai?

Thanks alot guys, i know there are a lot of people on here with this setup so i trust you! lol

Its sticker on the PCM under the hood. The PCM stratagy code.

Tune back to OEM AND the OEM airbox needs to be replaced
for smog checks.
Proper Octane fuel first, CAI, install tune, then drive her to let
the adaptive learning relearn if the battery was disconnected.

The cal code was on a small sticker, 4 digits, mine was HSV3, yours may be different. If you're returning to stock for any reason, yes you will have to put the stock air box back on, DO NOT THROW/GIVE/SELL any of that stuff away. It doesn't matter which one you do first as long as you don't drive it until both the intake and tune are installed. I like to start the tune installation for the new intake while I'm removing old. The car makes the same noise when you put your key in and turn it to on, all of those gizmos firing up. Well, when the tune finishes loading, it does it again. That's how I know it's done, and I can go start the procedures to turn it off. Not really an issue with the xcal, but the Ford program tool takes 3 times as long to install a tune. I'm always swapping my intakes around.

When I got mine, I got the 87 perf, 93 perf, 93 torq. I don't race, so I didn't think I needed a "race" tune. Everyone that has the race tune loves it. I have 93 available, so I got it. The 87 perf is good too. Much better than stock. And when 93 was unavailable on road trips, it came in real handy. It also came in handy during the recent shortages we had due to the hurricane. Strangely, 93 was nowhere to be found. So off came the FRPP CAI, on went the C&L and Bama with 87. So just think about what you'll be able to get all the time, and have a back-up tune for it. I pulled into a gas station one time, and grabbed the premium handle and pumped a full tank of what I thought was 93... just happened to glance at the little yellow sticker and... it wasn't. Luckily, I carried the xcal in a shaving kit bag in the trunk. I just flashed it for the 87 and rolled. For the X, I went with 91. I've been on the road and too many times 93 wasn't to be had, and with the X, premium is the only option. The FRPP CAI calibration is a 91+ tune.

The torq was my fav, and stayed in the car. It made the car pull harder down low, great for day to day driving.
